Half Double Crochet (hdc)
(The video is texted in English (US-terms), so remember to turn those on.)
Half double crochet (hdc) stitches are a slightly higher stitch that the single crochet, where you start by yarning over, insert the hook into the stitch, take the yarn back (= 3 loops on the hook). Then you yarn over again, guide the yarn on the hook through all three loops. That is a half double crochet stitch (hdc).
This stitch is not used that often, but it is a very good stitch to know. The most common stitches. when it comes to basic crochet stitches is the chain (ch), single crochet (sc) and the double crochet (dc).
A lot of crocheters use it when making dishcloths, because it makes a dense patterns, and it makes the project faster to get through. A Half Double Crochet in the back loops, maske a very nice dishcloth, that is dense and firm.
