COMPLETELY straight edges without turning chains
(The video is texted in English (US-terms), so remember to turn those on.)
I have found a tip, that I have started using whenever I can, because it gives some really nice edges. You can use it, when you make all kinds of stitches: Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Double Crochet and higher (triple crochet etc.), Completely without the use of turning chains, so it’s also a lot less confusing to use.
It is really a different result, that will make you edges completely straight when crocheting.
So how do you make COMPLETELY straight edges without turning chains?
What you do, is you turn your work around without making turning chains. Then you pull the loop a little loose, to get a bit of space to work with. Then you make a single crochet in the first stitch in the row. In the single crochet there are two loops: Use the back of the two and make a single crochet around it. Then you have reached the height, and are ready to double crochet all the way out.
In my patterns I call it “Pretty Turning (pt)”.
It counts as the first stitch in the row, and is also the last stitch, to crochet ind, when you reach the end of the row. That makes it less confusing, when counting all the stitches, because it is just 1 on 1.
That’s pretty smart. Happy crocheting 🙂
