About the Dishcloth in Shell Stitch<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Shell stitch is one of my go-to stitches, when it comes to dishcloths as it is super quick to get a cloth off the needle. It is a feminine and delicate stitch that has character. The Shell consists of 5 double crochets (dc) in the same stitch, so the cloth is quick to produce.<\/p>\n

It’s a personal matter when it comes to the border. I prefer to make the cloths without a border, as I like the more raw look, but if you choose a bordere for this, I would recommend making it in single crochets (sc) so the Shells get the primary attention.<\/p>\n

The border is made one side at a time. I don’t have any rules when it comes to the amount of single crochets (sc), but adjust as I crochet along. After one side is made, I look at it, and if it’s too tight or loose, I redo it. In the corners I make 3-4 single crochets (sc), to get a nice and square corner. A border is a really good idea, if you are not so experienced with crochet, to make the cloth look more square.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In general, all cotton yarn in 8\/4 is quite good to use for dishcloths, as most can be washed 60 degrees (even though it says 40 degrees, I wash my cloths at 60 degrees, to make sure they are clean. The colors fade a little over time, but rather a faded cloth than a dirty cloth ;-))<\/p>\n<\/div>
