About The Magical Easter Bunny Egg Warmer
I just looooooove to “hygge” around the Easter table with my whole family 🙂 And then I’m quite a fan of decorations that makes sense. That has a purpose. That’s why these “Magical” egg warmers popped up.
They are magical, because you don’t know, what is hiding under the little rabbit: Is it a soft-boiled egg, or has the rabbit conjured it into one of chocolates? 😉
Crochet time: 30 min
Skill level: Easy
Height: 10 cm
For this pattern on The Magical Easter Bunny Egg Warmer you need to be able to make a magic ring, where you crochet in spiral and single crochet. Simple as that. I have made a video, where I show you, how to assemble the parts together 🙂

The head
The head is crocheted in a spiral, where you don’t stop, but just continue the rows one after the other. Once you have finished crocheting, just check with your egg cup if it fits in the height to hide the egg. For the royal copenhagen egg cups I have, this length fits perfectly, but it does not apply to all kinds 🙂
Crochet a little tight.
In some rounds the order of increases and single crochet has been switched: This is to prevent them from becoming hexagonal.
ROUND 1 Make a magic ring with 6 single crochet (sc) (6 sts)
ROUND 2 Make 1 increase (inc) in all 6 stitches (12 sts)
ROUND 3 (1 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (18 sts)
ROUND 4 (2 sc, 1 inc) 6 times (24 sts)
ROUND 5 (1 inc, 3 sc) 6 times (30 sts)
ROUND 6 30 sc (30 sts)
ROUND 7 (9 sc, 1 inc) 3 times (33 sts)
ROUND 8 33 sc (33 sts)
ROUND 9 33 sc (33 sts)
ROUND 10 33 sc (33 sts)
ROUND 11 33 sc (33 sts)
ROUND 12 33 sc (33 sts)
Finish with an invisible join.
The ears
The ears on The Magical Easter Bunny Egg Warmer are also crocheted in spiral and also a bit tight 🙂
You make two of these.
ROUND 1 Make a magic ring with 4 single crochet (sc) (4 sts)
ROUND 2 (1 sc, 1 inc) 2 times (6 sts)
ROUND 3 (1 sc, 1 inc) 3 times (9 sts)
ROUND 4 (2 sc, 1 inc) 3 times (12 sts)
ROUND 5 (1 sc, 1 inc, 2 sc) 3 times (15 sts)
ROUND 6 (4 sc, 1 inc) 3 times (18 sts)
ROUND 7 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 8 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 9 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 10 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 11 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 12 18 sc (18 sts)
ROUND 13 (1 sc, 1 decrease) 6 times (12 sts)
The ear are not filled. You now fold it, so it lies flat and crochet 6 single crochet through both sides, so the ear closes. Leave a long end, so you have some yarn to sew it on with 🙂

Mini Pom Pom as tail
Step 1
Wrap a lot of yarn around a fork – preferably one of the slightly wider forks.
Step 2
Cut the end, when you have wrapped the yarn around (more than here in the picture).
Cut a good piece of yarn (approx. 20 cm) and wrap it around the middle piece. Tie a tight knot, so it holds well, take it off the fork and wrap it around again and finish with a tight knot.
Step 3
Here it is a good idea to stand by the rubbish bin, as a lot of fluff comes free 🙂
Cut the ends open at the sides, and cut it, so it looks nice and round. Beat it slightly down the table, to make it move freely, so the long ends, that needs to be cut off, comes out.
Step 4
Da daaaa: Now you have a Mini Pom Pom for the bunny’s tail 😀
It’s so cute!
Now it’s all ready to be assembled – you can see, how to do it here:

Embroider face on
For the smaller sizes, it’s pretty neat with a little face on The Magical Easter Bunny Egg Warmer: Here’s free play, and you can get all sorts of fun expressions by sitting and playing with it.
Here Otto and Vera (my nephew and niece) got a certain lady and a curious little boy – a bit like the two are 😉
Here you find some helpful videos, so you can make the pattern. Especially if you are a beginner (If you are: You’re awesome – am cheering for you!). It’s a bit easier to understand with live pictures Milla Billa made the design and editing. Music was by www.bensound.com.
