About Pops Jens Bobble Stitch Pillow
My dad is cooler than your dad! He was recently hit by life and is fighting a pretty tough battle. I am just so proud of him, so I have made a pillow for my dear father, to show him my support. Also support for his back on the couch, when he is tired 😉
Pops Jens Bobble Stitch Pillow goes perfect with my two other bobble stitch pillows: Mama Anette and Malene Bobble Stitch Pillow.

Time to produce: 18-20 hours
Skill level: Medium
Format: 45 x 45 cm
For this Pops Jens Bobble Stitch Pillow you need to be able to make chains (ch), single crochet (sc) and bobble stitches.
The front
Use 2 balls of cotton yarn 8/4 at the same time.
START Use hook size 4.5 mm and chain (ch) 80. Start in the 2nd stitch from the hook.
ROW 1 Use hook size 4 mm and make 1 single crochet, 39 bobble stitches, 1 ch, turn
ROW 2 79 single crochet, 1 ch, turn
ROW 3+ Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you end up with 39 bobbles in width and 37 bobbles in height.
The last row must be row 1 (a bobble stitch row).
Fasten off and weave in ends.
The back
Use 2 balls os cotton yarn 8/4 at the same time.
START Use hook 4 mm and chain (ch) 80. Start in the 2nd stitch from the hook.
RK 1+ 79 single crochet, 1 ch, turn. Repeat until the back is square.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
NOTE: The back will most likely be smaller than the front when you lay the two crocheted pieces up against each other. It is okay. Once they are crocheted togehter and get an inner pillow, the back will stretch to and match the front, so no worries.
Assembling
Crochet the pieces together
Hold the pieces together with the front sides inwards / towards each other.
Crochet the pieces together with single crochet all the way around, leaving an opening in the bottom so that the pillow can come in: Start 2.5 cm inside the bottom right side, single crochet all the way around and finish 2.5 cm inside the bottom. Turn the pillow so that it is inside out.
Sew on the “Handmade”-tag
I have placed the tag in on the right side, where it is sewn in from the back with a few stitches. It gives the pillow a more finished and professional look, and leather is a really nice material contrast to the yarn.
Attaching the zipper
If you choose to attach a zipper, open the zipper, fasten it with clamps and sew around the edge with a sewing needle. (see the video below) Then put the pillow in and voila – the Pops Jens Bobble Stitch Pillow is done 😀
Sew it together
If you choose to sew the pillow together, roll a small ball of yarn together (1-2 meters) and put it inside. Then the pillow can be cut open once it needs to be washed, and when it needs to be sewn back together, you are sure to have some yarn in the right color.
Insert inner pillow and yarn ball and sew the bottom together with a tapestry needle. And yes – your very own Pops Jens Bobble Stitch Pillow is finished 😀
